Contrary to popular belief, Samuel Puccio BJJ does NOT have a drive-through service. Sunday, February 21st, a driver made that simple mistake. The gym rules clearly state no street shoes on the mats, but apparently we need to amend that to include no motor-driven vehicles on the mat as well.

The crash took out the front brick wall and a significant portion of the glass front of the building. Classes have been suspended until repairs can take place. Sorry about the inconvenience. Just be glad we weren't training at the time!

Samuel Puccio BJJ is hosting the Rodrigo Medeiros Seminar on Wednesday, November 18th. Seminar is from 7pm to 9pm. Seminar cost is $60.00. Participation is GI ONLY.

This seminar will also include belt promotion and degree promotion.

The Alabama Jiu-Jitsu Federation State Championships: Gi Competition will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Samford University.

Competitor registration is $40.00 online, or $60.00 at the door. You can register online until 9:00 AM on October 24th.

1 PM: Black Belt, Brown Belt, Purple Belt Divisions
2 PM: Blue Belt Divisions
3 PM: White Belt Divisions

Spectators: $5 entry fee at the door.

WEIGHT CLASSES:

• 160 lbs. and under ( with gi on)
• 161-180 lbs.
• 181 to 200 lbs.
• 201 to 220 lbs.
• 221 lbs. and up.

2009 NAGA SOUTHEAST GRAPPLING CHAMPIONSHIP
On Saturday, September 12, 2009 the North American Grappling Association (NAGA) returns to Atlanta, Georgia for the largest grappling tournament in the Southeast: the NAGA Southeast Grappling Championship. This NAGA event is open to all grappling styles and competitors, you do not need to be on a team or be a member of any organization to compete.  NAGA welcomes both individuals and teams to compete. This event is nationally RANKED.

NEW VENUE - LARGER GYM, SINGLE DAY EVENT
Many teams have asked us to combine the children and adult competition into a single day tournament. A single day competition is much more convenient for teams traveling from great distances. It enables team as well as families to compete for one day and have the rest of the weekend available for travel and family activities. The Charles Drew High School gymnasium is a brand new facility and larger than other gyms NAGA has rented in the past in Georgia. The venue is conveniently located just minutes from downtown Atlanta and the Atlanta airport.

SAMURAI SWORDS TO ALL 1ST PLACE WINNERS
NAGA will be handing out custom engraved SAMURAI SWORDS to ALL children, teen, adult, master, director & executive Gi & No-Gi 1st place winners!  All 2nd and 3rd place winners will take home beautiful octagon medals. All children regardless if they place (1^st through 3^rd) will receive a medal just for having the courage to compete!

FREE NO-GI SEMINAR WITH BJJ BLACK BELT MIKE CARDOSO
Abu Dhabi Veteran & BJJ Black Belt Mike Cardoso will be conducting a FREE 1 hour No-Gi Seminar Friday night from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the venue. All schools and styles are welcome.  Individuals of all skill levels can participate.
